The number of active job postings in the Industrial Goods and Machinery sector of Australia decreased by 7.71% MoM, and decreased by 17.51% since October 2023, reaching 1,102 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 394 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 19.76% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 486 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 3.18% more jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted increased by 7.95% and the number of jobs closed increased by 46.83%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a growth rate of 2.58%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 6.22% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 13.66%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 392, number of jobs closed stood at 442 and number of active jobs stood at 1,242.
