In the LTM period, August 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $4,460.6 million, resulting in an average deal value of $446.1 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of December 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 17 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $29.2 million during that month.
Of the 145 deals, the deal secured between BC Partners Fund XI; CPP Investment Board European Holdings SARL and CeramTec GmbH, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Europe Industrial Goods & Machinery sector, which was valued at $1,885.2 million and was completed on August 17, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Swiss Life Asset Managers Limited; Vauban Infrastructure Partners and Aves One AG, while the third-largest deal was between The Saudi Public Investment Fund and McLaren Group Ltd. The Swiss Life Asset Managers Limited; Vauban Infrastructure Partners-Aves One AG deal and the The Saudi Public Investment Fund-McLaren Group Ltd deal were valued at $1,317.7 million and $761.6 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between The Carlyle Group Inc.-Schaltbau Holding AG valued at $558.0 million, whereas the deal between Ares Management Corp; The Saudi Public Investment Fund-McLaren Group Ltd valued at $556.6 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $5,079.1 million and accounted for nearly 58.31% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 13.07% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 8.85% of the total deal size on a global scale.
