The number of active job postings in the Industrial Goods and Machinery sector of Canada decreased by 6.81% MoM, and decreased by 11.82% since October 2023, reaching 2,903 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 717 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 2.58% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 929 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 9.63% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 27.43% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 6.82%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 10.14%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 4.11% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 2.33%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 892, number of jobs closed stood at 991 and number of active jobs stood at 3,188.
