The number of active job postings in the Industrial Goods and Machinery sector of the South and Central America region decreased by 4.69% MoM, and decreased by 3.72% since October 2023, reaching 1,888 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 696 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 7.32% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 789 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 13.2% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 31.9% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 2.83%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 12.02%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 1.26% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 0.95%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 870, number of jobs closed stood at 836 and number of active jobs stood at 1,992.
