Australia: Five largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deals by value (LTM June 2022)

  • A total of 499 Private Equity/Venture Financing deals (pending and completed) were announced in Australia, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $96,066.1 million. In the LTM period, July 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $27,541.7 million, resulting in an average deal value of $949.7 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 54 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $124.4 million during that month.

  • Of the 499 deals, the deal secured between AustralianSuper Pty Ltd; Conyers Trust Company (Cayman) Limited; Global Infrastructure Management; IFM Investors Pty Ltd; QSuper Limited and Sydney Airport Holdings Limited, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Australia, which was valued at $23,652.5 million and was completed on July 4, 2021. The second-largest deal was between KKR & Co Inc and Ramsay Health Care Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between Alberta Investment Management Corp; Brookfield Asset Management Inc; The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP); The Investment Management Corporation of Ontario and AusNet Services Ltd. The KKR & Co Inc-Ramsay Health Care Ltd deal and the Alberta Investment Management Corp; Brookfield Asset Management Inc; The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP); The Investment Management Corporation of Ontario-AusNet Services Ltd deal were valued at $17,004.8 million and $12,853.9 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec; Transurban Group-Sydney Motorway Corp Pty Ltd valued at $8,063.3 million, whereas the deal between KKR & Co Inc; Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan-Spark Infrastructure Group valued at $4,847.7 million was the fifth-largest deal.

  • Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $66,422.2 million and accounted for nearly 69.14% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
