The number of active job postings in Australia decreased by 1.33% MoM, and decreased by 27.25% since October 2023, reaching 57,191 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 22,679 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 25.22% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 23,451 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 18.11% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 44.11% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 49.68%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 17.63%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 10.06% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 20.46%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 28,989, number of jobs closed stood at 35,850 and number of active jobs stood at 65,563.
