The second largest number of LNG related patents were published by Exxon Mobil Corp with 147 patents, of which 95.9% was contributed by its subsidiary ExxonMobil Upstream Research Co. The third largest number of LNG related patents were published by Linde plc with 108 patents, of which 89.8% was contributed by its subsidiary Linde Gmbh. The fourth largest number of LNG related patents were published by Engie SA with 106 patents. The fifth largest number of LNG related patents were published by Air Products and Chemicals Inc with 90 patents.
The top five patent holders, i.e., Shell plc, Exxon Mobil Corp, Linde plc, Engie SA, and Air Products and Chemicals Inc, together held 687 LNG patents during the period.
