In the LTM period, October 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $2,737.7 million, resulting in an average deal value of $50.7 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 112 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $19.6 million during that month.
Of the 913 deals, the deal secured between Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan and Definity Financial Corporation, was the largest Equity Offering deal in the Canada, which was valued at $363.1 million and was completed on November 17, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Brookfield Asset Management Inc and Superior Plus Corp, while the third-largest deal was between Glencore Plc and Li-Cycle Holdings Corp. The Brookfield Asset Management Inc-Superior Plus Corp deal and the Glencore Plc-Li-Cycle Holdings Corp deal were valued at $231.0 million and $200.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Energir Inc; Valener Inc-Energir LP valued at $101.6 million, whereas the deal between Baker Hughes Co; BDC Capital Inc; ConocoPhillips; Continental Resources Inc; Mitsui & Co Ltd; Natural Gas Innovation Fund; Severstal; TransAlta Corp-Ekona Power Inc valued at $62.1 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $957.8 million and accounted for nearly 5.97% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
