A total of 184 Private Equity/Venture Financing deals (pending and completed) were announced in China, driven by Cloud, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $6,869.8 million. In the LTM period, August 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $1,141.1 million, resulting in an average deal value of $76.1 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of March 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 21 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $21.5 million during that month.
Of the 184 deals, the deal secured between China Investment China Finance Fund; Sequoia China Investment Management LLP; Tencent Holdings Ltd and Medlinker, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the China, which was valued at $514.0 million and was completed on December 12, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Aobo Capital and Jingtai Technology, while the third-largest deal was between China Merchants Capital Investment Co., Ltd.; CICC Capital Management Company Limited and Car Owner State (Beijing) Technology Co Ltd. The Aobo Capital-Jingtai Technology deal and the China Merchants Capital Investment Co., Ltd.; CICC Capital Management Company Limited-Car Owner State (Beijing) Technology Co Ltd deal were valued at $400.0 million and $308.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Blackstone Tactical Opportunities Advisors LLC-VNET Group, Inc. valued at $250.0 million, whereas the deal between Shanghai Chengshu Investment Management Co Ltd; TrustBridge Partners-Beijing Huitong Tianxia Wulian Technology Co., Ltd. valued at $200.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $1,672.0 million and accounted for nearly 24.34% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
