Europe: Five largest Debt Offering deals by value (LTM June 2022)

  • A total of 1,485 Debt Offering deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Europe region, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $755,754.9 million. In the LTM period, September 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $112,123.1 million, resulting in an average deal value of $622.9 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 189 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $589.5 million during that month.

  • Of the 1,485 deals, the deal secured between CaixaBank SA and Doggerbank Offshore Wind Farm Project 3 Projco Ltd, was the largest Debt Offering deal in the Europe region, which was valued at $3,991.5 million and was completed on December 2, 2021. The second-largest deal was between AXA IM Alts1; Generali Global Infrastructure SAS; Kommunalkredit Austria AG; Landesbank Baden-Wurttemberg; National Australia Bank Ltd and Deutsche Glasfaser Holding GmbH, while the third-largest deal was between Banca Popolare di Sondrio; CaixaBank SA; Cassa Depositi e Prestiti SpA; Credit Agricole CIB SA; Intesa Sanpaolo SpA; UniCredit SpA and Ferrovie Dello Stato Italiane SpA. The AXA IM Alts1; Generali Global Infrastructure SAS; Kommunalkredit Austria AG; Landesbank Baden-Wurttemberg; National Australia Bank Ltd-Deutsche Glasfaser Holding GmbH deal and the Banca Popolare di Sondrio; CaixaBank SA; Cassa Depositi e Prestiti SpA; Credit Agricole CIB SA; Intesa Sanpaolo SpA; UniCredit SpA-Ferrovie Dello Stato Italiane SpA deal were valued at $3,394.9 million and $2,982.9 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between AXA IM Alts1; Generali Global Infrastructure SAS; Kommunalkredit Austria AG; Landesbank Baden-Wurttemberg; National Australia Bank Ltd-Deutsche Glasfaser Holding GmbH valued at $2,829.1 million, whereas the deal between UK Export Finance-Government of Turkey valued at $2,308.4 million was the fifth-largest deal.

  • Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $15,506.8 million and accounted for nearly 2.05% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 39.69% of the total Debt Offering deals done globally, and accounted for 25.30% of the total deal size on a global scale.
