In the LTM period, June 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $10,720.3 million, resulting in an average deal value of $714.7 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 15 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $714.7 million during that month.
Of the 89 deals, the deal secured between Xavier Niel and Iliad SA, was the largest M&A deal in the Europe driven by Digital Media, which was valued at $3,700.0 million and was completed on July 30, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Altice UK Sarl and BT Group Plc, while the third-largest deal was between Embracer Group AB and Asmodee Group. The Altice UK Sarl-BT Group Plc deal and the Embracer Group AB-Asmodee Group deal were valued at $3,111.6 million and $3,102.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Pluralsight LLC-A Cloud Guru, Ltd. valued at $2,000.0 million, whereas the deal between Etsy Inc-Depop Ltd valued at $1,625.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $13,538.6 million and accounted for nearly 45.47% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 15.47% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 26.73% of the total deal size on a global scale.
