A total of 75 Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Europe region, driven by ECommerce, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $20,551.2 million. In the LTM period, November 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $9,631.7 million, resulting in an average deal value of $1,070.2 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 16 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $278.7 million during that month.
Of the 75 deals, the deal secured between DoorDash Inc and Wolt Enterprises Oy, was the largest M&A deal in the Europe driven by ECommerce, which was valued at $8,100.8 million and was completed on November 9, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Crocs Inc and Fratelli Diversi S.r.l, while the third-largest deal was between Etsy Inc and Depop Ltd. The Crocs Inc-Fratelli Diversi S.r.l deal and the Etsy Inc-Depop Ltd deal were valued at $2,500.0 million and $1,625.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Allegro.pl Sp Zoo-Mall Group a.s. valued at $1,020.9 million, whereas the deal between MIH Food Delivery Holdings B.V.-Delivery Hero SE valued at $868.2 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $14,114.9 million and accounted for nearly 68.68% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 23.30% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 32.89% of the total deal size on a global scale.
