In the LTM period, August 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $9,284.6 million, resulting in an average deal value of $221.1 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of February 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 66 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $27.8 million during that month.
Of the 657 deals, the deal secured between Abu Dhabi Investment Authority; Global Infrastructure Partners LLC and VTG Aktiengesellschaft - Parts of Rail Logistics Activities, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Germany, which was valued at $5,382.4 million and was completed on June 29, 2022. The second-largest deal was between EQT IX Fund; Hellman & Friedman LLC and zooplus AG, while the third-largest deal was between Brookfield Asset Management Inc and alstria office REIT-AG. The EQT IX Fund; Hellman & Friedman LLC-zooplus AG deal and the Brookfield Asset Management Inc-alstria office REIT-AG deal were valued at $4,342.6 million and $4,056.8 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Advent International Corp; Centerbridge Partners LP; TowerBrook Capital Partners LP-Aareal Bank AG valued at $1,978.0 million, whereas the deal between BC Partners Fund XI; CPP Investment Board European Holdings SARL-CeramTec GmbH valued at $1,885.2 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $17,645.0 million and accounted for nearly 36.06% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
