On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 10 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $386.9 million during that month.
Of the 87 deals, the deal secured between Block Inc and Afterpay Ltd, was the world's largest M&A deal driven by Cybersecurity, which was valued at $29,000.0 million and was completed on August 1, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Nitro Bidco Limited; NortonLifeLock Inc and Avast Plc, while the third-largest deal was between Kaseya Ltd and Datto, Inc.. The Nitro Bidco Limited; NortonLifeLock Inc-Avast Plc deal and the Kaseya Ltd-Datto, Inc. deal were valued at $9,062.0 million and $6,200.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Google LLC-Mandiant Inc valued at $5,400.0 million, whereas the deal between Altice UK Sarl-BT Group Plc valued at $3,111.6 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $52,773.6 million and accounted for nearly 74.49% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, Asia-Pacific accounted for 42.42% of the total M&A deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $30,052.4 million, which accounted for 24.42% of the total deal size on a global scale.
