In the LTM period, July 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $15,904.3 million, resulting in an average deal value of $77.2 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 216 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $35.1 million during that month.
Of the 2,084 deals, the deal secured between EQT AB; EQT Partners AB; Goldman Sachs Asset Management LP and Parexel International Corp, was the world's largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal driven by Digitalization, which was valued at $8,500.0 million and was completed on July 2, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Veritas Capital Fund Management, LLC and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Co, while the third-largest deal was between Thoma Bravo LP and Bottomline Technologies Inc. The Veritas Capital Fund Management, LLC-Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Co deal and the Thoma Bravo LP-Bottomline Technologies Inc deal were valued at $3,162.5 million and $2,704.7 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Kirkbi AS; Sony Group Corp-Epic Games Inc valued at $2,000.0 million, whereas the deal between Turkey Wealth Fund-Turk Telekomunikasyon AS valued at $1,650.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $18,017.2 million and accounted for nearly 16.98% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, North America accounted for 56.55% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $59,930.6 million, which accounted for 39.73% of the total deal size on a global scale.
