In the LTM period, December 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $3,354.7 million, resulting in an average deal value of $239.6 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 23 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $23.8 million during that month.
Of the 161 deals, the deal secured between Thoma Bravo LP and Bottomline Technologies Inc, was the world's largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal driven by Industrial Automation, which was valued at $2,704.7 million and was completed on December 17, 2021. The second-largest deal was between TPG Capital LP; Vista Equity Partners Management LLC and Blue Prism Group Plc, while the third-largest deal was between SoftBank Vision Fund LP and GM Cruise LLC. The TPG Capital LP; Vista Equity Partners Management LLC-Blue Prism Group Plc deal and the SoftBank Vision Fund LP-GM Cruise LLC deal were valued at $1,500.0 million and $1,350.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between ADQ; The Rise Fund-Tata Motors Ltd valued at $995.3 million, whereas the deal between Ares Management Corp; The Saudi Public Investment Fund-McLaren Group Ltd valued at $556.6 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $7,106.5 million and accounted for nearly 60.16% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, North America accounted for 60.14% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $7,130.3 million, which accounted for 51.53% of the total deal size on a global scale.
