The second largest number of LNG related patents were published by Engie SA with 1,896 patents, of which 96.0% was contributed by its subsidiary Gaztransport & Technigaz SA. The third largest numberLNG related patents were published by Linde plc with 1,803 patents, of which 66.7% was contributed by its subsidiary Linde Gmbh. The fourth largest number of patents were held by Shell plc with 1,648 patents, of which 80.1% was contributed by its subsidiary Shell Internationale Research Maatschappij B.V.. The fifth largest number LNG related patents were published by Samsung Heavy Industries Co Ltd with 1,398 patents.
The top five patent holders, i.e., Korea Development Bank, Engie SA, Linde plc, Shell plc, and Samsung Heavy Industries Co Ltd, together held 9,271 LNG patents during the period.
