The number of active job postings in Hong Kong decreased by 13.68% MoM, and decreased by 23.46% since October 2023, reaching 9,580 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 2,560 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 19.52% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 4,078 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 12.04% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 9.38% and the number of jobs closed increased by 21.12%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 3.23%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 8.53% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 6.59%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 3,140, number of jobs closed stood at 4,010 and number of active jobs stood at 11,437.
