On the other hand, the month of May 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 53 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $1,223.1 million during that month.
Of the 483 deals, the deal secured between TotalEnergies SE and Adani New Industries Ltd, was the largest M&A deal in the India, which was valued at $12,500.0 million and was completed on June 14, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Adani Group and Ambuja Cements Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between PayU and BillDesk. The Adani Group-Ambuja Cements Ltd deal and the PayU-BillDesk deal were valued at $6,228.6 million and $4,700.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Adani Group-Ambuja Cements Ltd valued at $2,566.5 million, whereas the deal between Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Inc-Fullerton India Credit Company Limited valued at $2,000.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $27,995.1 million and accounted for nearly 15.19% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
