The number of active job postings in India decreased by 11.72% MoM, and decreased by 21.91% since October 2023, reaching 183,363 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 59,115 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 12.89% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 83,454 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 7.96% more jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 15.31% and the number of jobs closed increased by 30.14%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 5.39%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 7.91% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 9.18%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 66,501, number of jobs closed stood at 77,946 and number of active jobs stood at 210,755.
