The number of active job postings in Jamaica decreased by 10.79% MoM, and decreased by 39.76% since October 2023, reaching 918 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 390 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 19.92% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 501 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 32.57% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 64.25% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 50.98%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 29.03%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 15.55% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 21.15%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 637, number of jobs closed stood at 771 and number of active jobs stood at 1,189.
