In the LTM period, January 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $5,088.5 million, resulting in an average deal value of $90.9 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of April 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 76 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $12.1 million during that month.
Of the 690 deals, the deal secured between Gaw Capital Partners and Invesco Office J-REIT Inc, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Japan, which was valued at $3,000.0 million and was completed on January 24, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Itochu Corp; Japan Industrial Partners Inc and Hitachi Construction Machinery Co Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between CVC Capital Partners Asia V L.P and Try Group Co., Ltd. The Itochu Corp; Japan Industrial Partners Inc-Hitachi Construction Machinery Co Ltd deal and the CVC Capital Partners Asia V L.P-Try Group Co., Ltd deal were valued at $1,738.0 million and $980.1 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between The Saudi Public Investment Fund-Nexon Co Ltd valued at $883.0 million, whereas the deal between ACA Investments Pte., Ltd.-bitFlyer Inc valued at $370.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $6,971.1 million and accounted for nearly 46.00% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
