A total of 72 Equity Offering deals (pending and completed) were announced in Malaysia, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $2,704.5 million. In the LTM period, April 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $905.7 million, resulting in an average deal value of $113.2 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of September 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 18 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $32.6 million during that month.
Of the 72 deals, the deal secured between Khazanah Nasional Bhd and CIMB Group Holdings Bhd, was the largest Equity Offering deal in the Malaysia, which was valued at $155.2 million and was completed on September 10, 2021. The second-largest deal was between SK Group and BigPay Malaysia Sdn Bhd, while the third-largest deal was between Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd and Dagang NeXchange Bhd. The SK Group-BigPay Malaysia Sdn Bhd deal and the Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd-Dagang NeXchange Bhd deal were valued at $100.0 million and $26.3 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Chudenko Corp-Samaiden Group Bhd valued at $5.1 million, whereas the deal between Macquarie Bank Ltd-Adventa Berhad valued at $4.8 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $291.4 million and accounted for nearly 10.77% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
