On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 14 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $13.4 million during that month.
Of the 122 deals, the deal secured between Endeavor Catalyst; Prosus NV; Sequoia Capital India; STV - Saudi Arabia and Foodics, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Middle East and Africa driven by ECommerce, which was valued at $170.0 million and was completed on April 20, 2022. The second-largest deal was between 4DX Ventures; Avenir Growth Capital; Binny Bansal; Jam Fund; Quona Capital Management, Ltd.; Sujeet Kumar; Tiger Global Management LLC; VNV Global AB and Sokowatch Inc., while the third-largest deal was between Cadenza Ventures; CDC Group Plc.; CMT Digital Ventures LLC; Coinbase Ventures; Endeavor Catalyst; Global Founders Capital Management GmbH; International Finance Corp; JIMCO Technology Fund; Kleiner Perkins; Middle East Venture Partners LP; MSA Capital; Novastar Ventures Limited; Paradigm Ventures; ParTech (France); Sahel Capital and Rain Management WLL; TradeDepot Inc.. The fourth-largest deal was between AfricInvest Group; Chuangshi Capital; Trust Capital; Yunshi Capital-Palm Pay Ltd valued at $100.0 million, whereas the deal between Endeavor Catalyst; MSA Capital; Raed Ventures; Rocketship VC; Sanabil Investments; STV - Saudi Arabia; VentureSouq; Wafra International Investment Company-Sary Information Technology Co valued at $74.8 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $615.0 million and accounted for nearly 33.22% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Middle East and Africa region accounted for 2.03% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 6.49% of the total deal size on a global scale.
