The number of active ESG related job postings in New Zealand driven by ESG decreased by 0.3% MoM, and decreased by 30.79% since October 2023, reaching 1,670 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 891 new ESG related jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 31.42% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 896 ESG related jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 21.61% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new ESG related jobs posted decreased by 34.82% and the number of ESG related jobs closed decreased by 42.71%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new ESG related jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 13.3%, the number of active ESG related job postings observed a negative growth rate of 11.55% and the number of ESG related jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 16.95%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of ESG related jobs posted stood at 1,047, the average number of ESG related jobs closed stood at 1,282 and the average number of active ESG related jobs stood at 1,974.
