The number of active ESG related job postings in the North America region driven by ESG decreased by 6.64% MoM, and decreased by 26.02% since October 2023, reaching 476,744 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 176,896 new ESG related jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 2.71% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 210,821 ESG related jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 10.25% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 25.43% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 13.79%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new ESG related jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 9.32%, the number of active ESG related job postings observed a negative growth rate of 9.56% and the number of ESG related jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 4.83%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 203,772, number of jobs closed stood at 247,516 and number of active jobs stood at 551,293.
