A total of 93 Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) deals (pending and completed) were announced in Norway, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $19,719.9 million. In the LTM period, January 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $4,147.8 million, resulting in an average deal value of $829.6 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of June 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 12 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $99.0 million during that month.
Of the 93 deals, the deal secured between SalMar ASA and NTS ASA, was the largest M&A deal in the Norway, which was valued at $2,958.0 million and was completed on January 17, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Octopus Bidco AS and Ocean Yield ASA, while the third-largest deal was between Entra ASA and Oslo Areal AS. The Octopus Bidco AS-Ocean Yield ASA deal and the Entra ASA-Oslo Areal AS deal were valued at $2,260.7 million and $1,490.5 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between SalMar ASA-Norway Royal Salmon ASA valued at $1,320.8 million, whereas the deal between NTS ASA-Norway Royal Salmon ASA valued at $1,272.8 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $9,302.7 million and accounted for nearly 47.17% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
