In the LTM period, August 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $631.0 million, resulting in an average deal value of $126.2 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of September 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 6 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $2.3 million during that month.
Of the 52 deals, the deal secured between CVC Strategic Opportunities II and Sonae MC, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Portugal, which was valued at $626.5 million and was completed on August 2, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Antin Infrastructure Partners SAS and Power Dot SA, while the third-largest deal was between MM Capital Partners Co Ltd and Lusoponte. The Antin Infrastructure Partners SAS-Power Dot SA deal and the MM Capital Partners Co Ltd-Lusoponte deal were valued at $157.5 million and $66.5 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Verdane Idun I-Cleanwatts valued at $26.4 million, whereas the deal between Iberis Capital; Ventura Capital-The TEKEVER Group valued at $22.7 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $899.6 million and accounted for nearly 71.16% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
