In the LTM period, July 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $5,625.8 million, resulting in an average deal value of $74.0 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of January 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 81 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $35.8 million during that month.
Of the 872 deals, the deal secured between KKR & Co Inc and SK E&S Co Ltd, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the South Korea, which was valued at $2,000.0 million and was completed on November 5, 2021. The second-largest deal was between SoftBank Group Corp and Yanolja Co Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between CBC Group and Hugel Inc. The SoftBank Group Corp-Yanolja Co Ltd deal and the CBC Group-Hugel Inc deal were valued at $1,700.0 million and $1,500.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between IMM Private Equity Inc; Lotte Corp-Hanssem Co Ltd valued at $1,240.0 million, whereas the deal between Baring Private Equity Asia V Holding (1) Limited-PI Advanced Materials Co Ltd valued at $1,014.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $7,454.0 million and accounted for nearly 24.21% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
