In the LTM period, July 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $1,606.5 million, resulting in an average deal value of $200.8 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of October 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 9 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $19.1 million during that month.
Of the 61 deals, the deal secured between IMM Private Equity Inc; Lotte Corp and Hanssem Co Ltd, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the South Korea, which was valued at $1,240.0 million and was completed on July 14, 2021. The second-largest deal was between MBK Partners Ltd and Koreacenter Co Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between Affinity Equity Partners (S) Pte, Ltd.; BRV Capital Management and Ssg.Com Corp.. The MBK Partners Ltd-Koreacenter Co Ltd deal and the Affinity Equity Partners (S) Pte, Ltd.; BRV Capital Management-Ssg.Com Corp. deal were valued at $413.0 million and $252.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Anchor Equity Partners (Asia) Limited-Curly Co Ltd valued at $209.2 million, whereas the deal between CJ Korea Express; DST Global; Hillhouse Capital Group; Sequoia Capital China; SPEX Management-Curly Co Ltd valued at $196.1 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $2,310.3 million and accounted for nearly 65.65% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
