The number of active job postings in Sri Lanka decreased by 2.43% MoM, and decreased by 12.01% since October 2023, reaching 1,084 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 412 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 11.02% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 439 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 5.18% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 27.59% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 12.2%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 10.2%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 4.18% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 4.24%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 459, number of jobs closed stood at 479 and number of active jobs stood at 1,134.
