A total of 71 Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) deals (pending and completed) were announced in Thailand, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $10,682.9 million. In the LTM period, August 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $7,201.9 million, resulting in an average deal value of $1,200.3 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of November 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 11 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $144.4 million during that month.
Of the 71 deals, the deal secured between Siam Makro Public Co Ltd and C.P. Retail Holding Company Limited, was the largest M&A deal in the Thailand, which was valued at $6,704.1 million and was completed on August 31, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Siam Commercial Bank Public Co Ltd and Bitkub Online Co Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between ES-CON Japan Ltd and Picasso Company Limited; Yuuki Sangyo Co., Ltd. The Siam Commercial Bank Public Co Ltd-Bitkub Online Co Ltd deal and the ES-CON Japan Ltd-Picasso Company Limited; Yuuki Sangyo Co., Ltd deal were valued at $534.8 million and $272.1 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Central Pattana Public Co Ltd-Siam Future Development Public Co Ltd valued at $239.4 million, whereas the deal between Singapore Telecommunications Ltd-Intouch Holdings Plc valued at $237.3 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $7,987.7 million and accounted for nearly 74.77% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
