On the other hand, the month of December 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 65 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $328.9 million during that month.
Of the 602 deals, the deal secured between DraftKings Inc and Entain PLC, was the largest M&A deal in the United Kingdom, which was valued at $21,551.4 million and was completed on September 21, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Parker Hannifin Corp and Meggitt Plc, while the third-largest deal was between Nitro Bidco Limited; NortonLifeLock Inc and Avast Plc. The Parker Hannifin Corp-Meggitt Plc deal and the Nitro Bidco Limited; NortonLifeLock Inc-Avast Plc deal were valued at $10,145.4 million and $9,062.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between ViaSat Inc-Inmarsat Group Holdings Ltd valued at $7,300.0 million, whereas the deal between Cretaceous Bidco Ltd-ContourGlobal plc valued at $6,140.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $54,198.8 million and accounted for nearly 27.70% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
