The number of active job postings in United States decreased by 6.83% MoM, and decreased by 19.53% since October 2023, reaching 2,092,431 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 607,010 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 4.71% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 760,386 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 12.23% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 25.71% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 7.98%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 9.43%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 6.99% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 2.73%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 715,134, number of jobs closed stood at 844,384 and number of active jobs stood at 2,353,400.
