In the LTM period, August 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $533.2 million, resulting in an average deal value of $177.7 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of August 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 3 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $177.7 million during that month.
Of the 15 deals, the deal secured between Hana Financial Investment Co Ltd and BIDV Securities Co., Ltd., was the largest M&A deal in the Vietnam, which was valued at $113.6 million and was completed on April 25, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Masan Group Corp and Phuc Long Heritage Joint Stock Company, while the third-largest deal was between Indorama Ventures Europe BV and Ngoc Nghia Group. The Masan Group Corp-Phuc Long Heritage Joint Stock Company deal and the Indorama Ventures Europe BV-Ngoc Nghia Group deal were valued at $110.0 million and $90.8 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Leader Energy Pte Ltd-Clean Energy Vision Development Joint Stock Company valued at $43.6 million, whereas the deal between Samsung Engineering Co Ltd-Dong Nai Plastic Water valued at $41.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $399.0 million and accounted for nearly 39.88% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
