In the LTM period, December 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $577.1 million, resulting in an average deal value of $144.3 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of January 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 14 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $12.7 million during that month.
Of the 89 deals, the deal secured between Abu Dhabi Investment Authority; Masan Group Corp; Seatown Holdings International Pte. Ltd.; TPG Capital and The CrownX Corporation, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Vietnam, which was valued at $350.0 million and was completed on December 13, 2021. The second-largest deal was between State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) and Vietnam Airlines JSC, while the third-largest deal was between Dragoneer Investment Group LLC; EDBI Pte Ltd; General Atlantic Service Company, L.P.; GIC Pte Ltd; PayPal Ventures; SoftBank Vision Fund 1; Warburg Pincus LLC and No Va Land Investment Group; VNLIFE Corporation Joint Stock Company. The State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC)-Vietnam Airlines JSC deal and the Dragoneer Investment Group LLC; EDBI Pte Ltd; General Atlantic Service Company, L.P.; GIC Pte Ltd; PayPal Ventures; SoftBank Vision Fund 1; Warburg Pincus LLC-No Va Land Investment Group; VNLIFE Corporation Joint Stock Company deal were valued at $276.0 million and $250.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between AIA Company Limited; Mirae Asset Naver New Growth Investment Association; STIC Investments, Inc.; Taiwan Mobile Co Ltd; UBS Group AG-Tiki Corp valued at $240.0 million, whereas the deal between Goodwater Capital, LLC; Kora Management LP; Mizuho Bank Ltd; WFM INVESTMENTS INC-M_Service JSC valued at $200.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $1,366.0 million and accounted for nearly 52.88% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
