A total of 158 Equity Offering deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Mining of the Asia-Pacific region, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $3,209.1 million. In the LTM period, June 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $1,275.3 million, resulting in an average deal value of $98.1 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of August 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 32 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $18.1 million during that month.
Of the 158 deals, the deal secured between Guizhou Chuanheng Chemical Co., Ltd.; Sichuan Shuyu Mining Investment Limited and Weng'an County Tianyi Mining Co., Ltd, was the largest Equity Offering deal in the Asia-Pacific Mining sector, which was valued at $91.7 million and was completed on August 27, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Sibanye Stillwater Ltd and New Century Resources Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between Zhongyu Xinzeng and Zhengzhou Coal Industry & Electric Power Co Ltd. The Sibanye Stillwater Ltd-New Century Resources Ltd deal and the Zhongyu Xinzeng-Zhengzhou Coal Industry & Electric Power Co Ltd deal were valued at $46.0 million and $44.3 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between AMCI Group; AMCI Investments Pty., Ltd.; Lithium Americas Corp; Primero Group Ltd-Green Technology Metals Limited valued at $39.3 million, whereas the deal between Metal Tiger plc-Sandfire Resources Ltd valued at $12.9 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $234.2 million and accounted for nearly 7.30% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Asia-Pacific region accounted for 52.74% of the total Equity Offering deals done globally, and accounted for 0.49% of the total deal size on a global scale.
