The East Maritsa Coal Mine is owned by Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD. The second largest underground mine with an estimated 2.21 mmtpa of ROM and primarily producing copper (18.18 thousand tonnes), was the Chelopech Mine located in Sofia. The Chelopech Mine is owned by Dundee Precious Metals Inc, and is due to operate until 2030.
