Okvau Gold Project in Mondulkiri, was the largest mine in Cambodia, producing approximately 1.71 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) and primarily produced gold (101.61 thousand tonnes) in 2021. The Okvau Gold Project is owned by Emerald Resources NL, and is due to operate until 2029. The second largest mine with approximately 1.57 mmtpa of ROM, was the Tatung Mine located in Kampot. The Tatung Mine is owned by Khaou Chuly Group;Siam City Cement Public Co Ltd.
Kampot Quarry located in Kampot was the third-largest mine, the East Touk Meas Mine located in Kampot was the fourth-largest mine, and the Phnom Laang Laan Commune Mine located in Kampot was the fifth-largest mine, with an estimated ROM production of 1.37 mmtpa, 0.73 mmtpa and 0.62 mmtpa, respectively, in 2021. The Kampot Quarry is owned by Khaou Chuly Group;The Siam Cement Public Co Ltd, the East Touk Meas Mine is owned by United International (Cambodia) Foreign Investment Group Co Ltd and the Phnom Laang Laan Commune Mine is owned by Thai boon Roong Cement Co Ltd.
The five largest mines, i.e., Okvau Gold Project, Tatung Mine, Kampot Quarry, East Touk Meas Mine, and Phnom Laang Laan Commune Mine, cumulatively produced approximately 6.01 mmtpa of ROM in 2021
