Rampura Agucha Mine in Rajasthan, was the largest underground zinc-producing mine in India, producing approximately 395.6 thousand tonnes of zinc and an estimated 3.86 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) in 2021. The Rampura Agucha Mine is owned by Vedanta Resources Ltd, and is due to operate until 2027. The second largest underground zinc-producing mine with an estimated production of 104 thousand tonnes of zinc and approximately 2.96 mmtpa of ROM, was the Sindesar Khurd Mine located in Rajasthan. The Sindesar Khurd Mine is owned by Vedanta Resources Ltd, and is due to operate until 2030.
