The Rocanville Mine is owned by Nutrien Ltd, and is due to operate until 2051. The second largest underground mine with an estimated 16.3 mmtpa of ROM, was the MC#1 Mine located in Illinois, United States. The MC#1 Mine is owned by ACNR Holdings Inc.
Sugar Creek Mine located in Missouri, United States was the third-largest mine, the Bailey Mine located in Pennsylvania, United States was the fourth-largest mine, and the Marshall County Mine located in West Virginia, United States was the fifth-largest mine, with an estimated ROM production of 15.96 mmtpa, 14.29 mmtpa and 14.15 mmtpa, respectively, in 2021. The Sugar Creek Mine is owned by Eagle Materials Inc, the Bailey Mine is owned by Consol Energy Inc and the Marshall County Mine is owned by ACNR Holdings Inc.
The five largest underground mines, i.e., Rocanville Mine, MC#1 Mine, Sugar Creek Mine, Bailey Mine, and Marshall County Mine, cumulatively produced approximately 77.34 mmtpa of ROM in 2021.
