Nickel production in Russia
Russia has deposits of copper, nickel and zinc, along with coal, iron ore, gold, diamond, aluminum, vanadium, tin, tungsten, potash, sulfur, silicon, rhenium and fluorspar. The mining industry is important for its economy and contributed majority towards overall gross domestic product (GDP).
Russia had the fourth-largest nickel reserves in the world as of February 2019, spread across the states of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Orenburg, Murmansk and Amur Oblasts.
