GAC Mine in Boke, was the largest mine in Republic of Guinea, producing approximately 21.39 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) in 2021. The GAC Mine is owned by Emirates Global Aluminium PJSC, and is due to operate until 2040. The second largest mine with approximately 17.89 mmtpa of ROM, was the Sangaredi Mine located in Boke. The Sangaredi Mine is owned by Dadco Alumina & Chemicals Ltd;Rio Tinto;Government Of Guinea;Alcoa Corp, and is due to operate until 2039.
Boffa Bauxite Mine located in Boke was the third-largest mine, the Bel Air Mine located in Boke was the fourth-largest mine, and the Lefa Mine located in Kankan was the fifth-largest mine, with an estimated ROM production of 12.17 mmtpa, 7.87 mmtpa and 6.72 mmtpa, respectively, in 2021. The Boffa Bauxite Mine is owned by Aluminum Corporation of China Ltd which is due to operate until 2082, the Bel Air Mine is owned by Alufer Mining Ltd;Government Of Guinea which is due to operate until 2034 and the Lefa Mine is owned by Nord Gold SE which is due to operate until 2029.
