Veliki Krivelj (VK) Mine in Vojvodina, was the largest mine in Serbia, producing approximately 14.71 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) and primarily produced copper (38.11 thousand tonnes) in 2021. The Veliki Krivelj (VK) Mine is owned by Republic of Serbia;Zijin Mining Group Co Ltd, and is due to operate until 2039. The second largest mine with approximately 11.98 mmtpa of ROM, was the Tamnava West Mine located in Vojvodina. The Tamnava West Mine is owned by Electric Power Industry of Serbia.
Field D Mine located in Southern and Eastern Serbia was the third-largest mine, the Kostolac Coal Mine located in Southern and Eastern Serbia was the fourth-largest mine, and the Majdanpek (MS) Mine located in Vojvodina was the fifth-largest mine, with an estimated ROM production of 11.11 mmtpa, 9.58 mmtpa and 8.82 mmtpa, respectively, in 2021. The Field D Mine is owned by Electric Power Industry of Serbia, the Kostolac Coal Mine is owned by Electric Power Industry of Serbia and the Majdanpek (MS) Mine is owned by Zijin Mining Group Co Ltd;Republic of Serbia which is due to operate until 2039.
