The number of active ESG related job postings in the Oil and Gas sector of Canada increased by 6.74% MoM, and decreased by 12.89% since October 2023, reaching 649 active job postings in January 2024
A total of 340 new ESG related jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 21% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 299 ESG related jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 30.79% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new ESG related jobs posted decreased by 31.03% and the number of ESG related jobs closed decreased by 39.47%.
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new ESG related jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 11.65%, the number of active ESG related job postings observed a negative growth rate of 4.49% and the number of ESG related jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 15.41%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of ESG related jobs posted stood at 404, number of ESG related jobs closed stood at 428 and number of active ESG related jobs stood at 690.
