Of the 30 deals, the deal secured between Business Development Bank of Canada; Equitix Infrastructure Investments Limited; Spring Lane Capital and ANDION Global Inc., was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Canada Power & Utilities sector, which was valued at $270.0 million and was completed on February 22, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Goldman Sachs Asset Management LP and Hydrostor Inc, while the third-largest deal was between Brookfield Global Transition Fund I and Entropy Inc. The Goldman Sachs Asset Management LP-Hydrostor Inc deal and the Brookfield Global Transition Fund I-Entropy Inc deal were valued at $250.0 million and $240.4 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Avenue Capital Group; Monarch Alternative Capital LP; Repsol SA; Suncor Energy Inc-Enerkem Inc valued at $204.5 million, whereas the deal between Business Development Bank of Canada; GIC Pte Ltd; Jameel Investment Management Company; Jeff Bezos; Kam Ghaffarian; Segra Capital Management, LLC; Temasek International (USA) LLC; Tobias Lutke-General Fusion Inc. valued at $130.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $1,094.9 million and accounted for nearly 82.31% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
