It operates multi-format and omnichannel retail platforms and retails merchandise through e-commerce websites. The company offers an extensive portfolio of food and non-food products, including fresh produce, local specialties, consumer goods, clothing, consumer electronics, home furnishing goods, and cultural goods.

The total GHG emissions of Carrefour in 2021 were 1,857 thousand tonnes of CO2 equivalents, an increase of 16% over 2020.

GHG emissions are generally classified into Scope 1,2 & 3 emissions. Scope 1 includes direct GHG emissions from stationary fuel combustion and refrigerant gases. Scope 2 encompasses indirect GHG emissions from the on-site generation and purchase of electricity. Scope 3 involves all other indirect GHG emissions in Carrefour’s value chain.
