Seasonality affects Amazon's business, which has traditionally resulted in increased sales volume during the fourth quarter of each year (the holiday season in most Western countries), which concludes on December 31. The holiday season is the busiest time for sales, so Amazon hires seasonal workers all throughout the United States in the fourth quarter of each fiscal year to keep up with the demand. Amazon has increased its product offerings and thus diversified its revenue-generating segments.
In March 2022, the Amazon-MGM deal received the EU’s Antitrust approval, thus adding 4,000 film titles and 17,000 TV episodes to its Prime video platform.
Amazon Care, which was launched in September 2019, has begun in-person services across various cities in the US from Q1 2022 and Amazon further plans to add the in-person services across 15 other cities in 2022.
