On the other hand, the month of July 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 24 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $587.5 million during that month.
Of the 184 deals, the deal secured between Market Bidco Limited and Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Europe Retail & Wholesale sector, which was valued at $13,339.6 million and was completed on August 19, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Oppidum Bidco Limited and Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc, while the third-largest deal was between EQT IX Fund; Hellman & Friedman LLC and zooplus AG. The Oppidum Bidco Limited-Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc deal and the EQT IX Fund; Hellman & Friedman LLC-zooplus AG deal were valued at $13,051.6 million and $4,342.6 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between ADQ; General Atlantic Ltd; Princeville Capital; Qatar Investment Authority; SoftBank Vision Fund 2-Trendyol.com valued at $1,500.0 million, whereas the deal between Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 6-RoadChef Motorways Ltd valued at $1,200.3 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $33,434.1 million and accounted for nearly 73.88% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 39.66% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 5.88% of the total deal size on a global scale.
