Brazil: Job Trends in the Retailing Sector (October 2023 - January 2024)

The number of active job postings in the Retailing sector of Brazil decreased by 7.6% MoM, and decreased by 7.35% since October 2023, reaching 6,275 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 1,726 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 35.69% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 2,242 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 38.82% more jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 27.93% and the number of jobs closed increased by 21.19%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 10.34%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 2.51% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 6.62%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 1,877, number of jobs closed stood at 1,865 and number of active jobs stood at 6,743.
